In-Home Rehabilitation Services

We are the largest “therapist owned” provider of home care rehabilitation in Durham Region. Angela Dye, an experienced therapist, is the owner of IRP which has been in operation since 1997 – 22 years. IRP has Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, Dietitians and physiotherapy assistants who provide in-home assessment and treatment of patients in the community. We are located in Pickering and we provide Rehabilitation service to clients in Durham Region and in Scarborough, Lindsay, Haliburton, and Port Hope areas.

Our Admission Criteria 

Who do we see?

The therapists of IRP serve all adult patients in the community environment (their homes or retirement communities), whose needs cannot be met on an out-patient basis.  At present, a referral is needed from the LHIN and/or an Ontario Health team.  The patient must have an Ontario Health Card.

Our typical patients

  • Elderly patients who may need assistance to live safely at home.
  • Those who need assistance with mobility, strengthening, balance and walking aids.
  • People who may need advice and treatment to prevent having falls
  • Patients who are post-orthopaedic or post-medical surgeries: total hips/knees/shoulders or surgeries or patients who are weakened because of long medical stays in the hospital.
  • Persons who may need Assistive Device Program application assistance for a walker, rollator, wheelchair, power wheelchair or scooter. Assistance may be needed for funding applications.
  • Patients who may need assistance/advice with being able to stay in their own home: activities of daily living, home modifications, grocery shopping/banking/transportation issues.
  • Those who may need assistance with dietary or nutritional needs.
  • Persons who need advice/counselling/community supports from a social worker
  • Patients with neurological deficits who may have suffered with a Stroke, Acquired Brain injury, ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease), Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimer’s Disease, Dementia and Parkinson’s Disease.
  • Any Veteran who may need therapy services in their home
  • Any person involved in a motor vehicle accident or a work injury or has sustained any level of spinal cord injury.

Our Progress

On site is an out-patient publicly funded OHIP physiotherapy clinic that provides physiotherapy, massage therapy and kinesiology.

The Director is Angela Dye who is a Registered Physiotherapist and was a staff member of the Durham Region Home Care Program now known as the Central East LHIN. Integrated Rehab Professionals has grown from two therapists to thirty-five therapists in the last 22 years. Our Service Providers are experienced in home assessment and treatment. Our team of highly qualified professionals focuses on quality care by ensuring that we meet patient and family needs, using best practices and promoting independence through patient centered and goal-oriented services. Integrated Rehab Professionals provides integrated services by therapists who are professional and experienced.

Integrated Rehab Professionals has:

  • 35 Community Therapists: Registered Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Social Workers, Dietitian
  • 16 Service Providers have over 15 years of experience in the field of community rehabilitation.
  • 16 therapists, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists who are authorizers for Assisted Devices, (ADP authorizers).
